Eshagh Hedvat

 In Loving Memory of

**ESHAGH HEDVAT**
1924 – 2007

Eshagh Hedvat was born in 1924 (1303 SH) in the historic city of Isfahan, Iran, to Mola Hezghia Hedvat and Tavous Khanom Gabbai.

Raised in a devoted and honorable family, he grew up embodying integrity, responsibility, and perseverance from an early age.

Though his formal education concluded at the elementary level, his love of learning never ceased. Life’s circumstances required maturity at a young age, and he embraced responsibility with dignity and strength.

As a young man, he moved to Tehran and began working in the Grand Bazaar. Through honesty, discipline, and exceptional work ethic, he became a respected fabric specialist.

He later became the proud owner of the well-known Marigold Store in Tehran — a business recognized for quality, fairness, and gracious customer service.

At the age of 29, he married Maliheh Mashian in Tehran, Iran. Together they built a home founded on love, respect, and partnership.

He was a loving father — a guide, protector, and role model — who instilled in his children the values of honesty, compassion, and perseverance.

Eshagh and his wife were blessed with three children and a growing family of grandchildren.

  1. Edana, who married Dr. Nader Naziri.
Their daughters: Mojdeh Banayan and Ghazaleh Adelpour.
  2. Edward, who married Nava Nejad-Kashani.
Their children: Jonathan, Jasmin, Jamie, and Justin.
  3. Elena, who married Saeed Aminpour.
Their children: Natasha, Nathan, Brian, and Eli.

Eshagh Hedvat was known for his generosity and charitable spirit. Helping others was not merely an obligation but a moral calling. His kindness, humility, and integrity earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.

Eshagh Hedvat passed away on September 22, 2007, which was Yom Kippur, corresponding to 10 Tishrei 5768 in the Hebrew calendar.

He was laid to rest on September 24, 2007 (12 Tishrei 5768) at Eden Memorial Park Cemetery, Mission Hills, California.

A memorial service in his honor was held on October 8, 2007 (26 Tishrei 5768), on Columbus Day, at Nessah Synagogue.

      Dear Edna,
I tried to cover the important parts of your father’s life. Some parts were removed due to security considerations. But if there is anything you would like me to add, please let me know.
      Sincerely,
      Jila Golbahar
