He was a merchant, active in the trade of animal hides and furs. Yohana was a hardworking, responsible, and independent man who provided for himself and his family through perseverance and integrity.
Yohana Melamed passed away on October 25, 1980, in Tehran, Iran. According to the Hebrew calendar, his date of passing corresponds to the 15th of Cheshvan, 5741. He was laid to rest in the Beheshtiyeh Cemetery in Tehran.
